Diwali Celebration In-Person

Join India Friends Association and the Thousand Oaks Library in this cultural celebration! Enjoy activities, informative displays, a kid’s craft table and scavenger hunt, and more as we honor this rich tradition. Whether you’re learning about Diwali for the first time, or a seasoned celebrator, all are welcome.

The Significance of Diwali • 1:00pm – 1:30pm

Enjoy an interactive skit by children and a short film on the Ramayana, the epic tale of King Rama, Queen Sita, and Hanuman, whose triumph over evil is celebrated during Diwali. Meet costumed characters for photos and questions. (Ages 4+).

Beautiful Henna with Suchita • 12:30PM – 3:30pm

A henna artist with over 20 years of experience, Suchita weaves her creativity into unique designs, inviting others to experience the beauty and tradition of henna art. Suchita will be offering small henna designs during the Diwali Celebration.

Bollywood Dance Class • 2:00pm – 2:45pm

Fun dance tutorial for all ages and skill levels with Monica Sarin of Dance Bollywood Dance.
