The Thousand Oaks Library presents its 2024 Summer Reading Club Story-Slam. Writers of all ages are invited to submit a short story, either fiction or non-fiction, that is 1200 words or less and can be read in 6 minutes. Based on this year's Summer Reading Club theme of “Adventure Begins at Your Library” the theme for the story slam will be the start of an adventure or journey. All stories must be submitted by Friday, July 12th at either at the front desk of the Thousand Oaks Library or submitted via email at info@tolibrary.org. The top 8 stories will be selected to be read at a special after-hours event on Friday July 26th at 6:30pm where a winner for the Story-Slam will be selected and receive a gift card prize. The selected readers will be notified on Friday July 19th.
